Company History

Angelo Salamanca came to the United States from Italy with years of training and work experience in the restaurant business. After visiting a number of good friends who had made Ocala their home, he decided this was the right place and the right time to open his very own restaurant.

Carmine's Cafe, named after Angelo's own beloved grandfather, officially opened for business in March 2008, with the help of a like-minded business partner and Angelo's own family members.

The restaurant was renovated recently and offers an inviting and relaxing Italian theme. Traditional music plays softly to add to the ambiance of a casual dining experience that showcases their authentic made to order Italian cuisine.

In the "Local and State" section of the Ocala Star Banner dated February 23, 2008 here's what diner DENISE SHORTWAY had to say:
"I probably shouldn't tell about this because then we will have to wait in line. We stopped in at the new Carmine's Italian Restaurant in the Kingsland Plaza on SR 200, across from Pine Run. Their new sign isn't up yet, but it's well worth the trip. Starting with salad of mixed greens and homemade dressing which I ended up using my bread to sop up the rest, something I normally never do... spaghetti full of meat sauce, chicken parmigiana that was totally delicious. Staff was very friendly and whoever is doing the cooking, my compliments."

"Recently, Denise Shortway wrote in to tell us about Carmine's Italian Restaurant in the Kingsland Plaza on State Road 200 directly across from Pine Run. So I thought €“ if it's Italian, then Dearly Beloved and I should check this place out. And I'm so glad we did one evening last week. Excellent food, service and reasonable prices. We were so stuffed by the time we left, we felt guilty, but it's difficult to restrain oneself when confronted with such great food! If you decide to go, tell Angelo "hi" for us!"

"...the On Top of the World Lions Club...hosted a dinner for the public at Carmine's Restaurant, in Kingsland Plaza directly across the street from Pine Run.... Angelo and his restaurant staff haven't lost their magic touch when it comes to concocting delicious fare..."
